Beyond MidwayYou Must Own Our Battle of Midway Game from TPS in Order to Use This Refit Kit.As with most games, capturing the actual history behind the events of Midway took priority over including some fascinating “might have beens.” Now you can explore how much more (or less) both sides could have brought to bear. The Beyond Midway Refit Pack consists of two elements - Essentials, and Nice to Haves EssentialsThis Refit Pack starts off with a redone 12 page rulesbook for The Battle of Midway with all the addenda to date baked in. It also includes the latest version (3rd printing) of the two sides' Deployment displays. These are also available as free downloads off the Midway game page here on the website. The last essential is a small stick of addenda counters for the base Midway game. This too can be freely had by simply asking for them using our Parts page here.
Nice to HavesIn this category the Midway Refit Pack includes a redone, larger map for the A Defiant Stand mini-game with integrated rules printed on the map (originally included in the base The Battle of Midway game), and a sheet of scenarios and variants (plus new counters) for the base Midway game. A Defiant Stand is a stand-alone game on the (possible) ground battle at Midway Island, which makes for a nice addition to our naval oriented Midway game. While the battle never took place, it's a little known fact that one of President FDR's sons was among the grim defenders stationed at Midway. It would have been quite the propaganda event had the battle gone either way. ![]() The Independence Day variant rules and counters introduce might-have-beens with additional carriers and forces on both sides! The Beyond Midway Refit Pack includes:Midway Rulesbook (2nd printing): One 12 page updated rulesbookCharts and Displays (3rd printing): Two updated Deployment displays Independence Day Variant Scenario: 1 page Map: One full color, 11” x 17” redone A Defiant Stand mapboard with integrated rules Pieces: 45 new full color, large 5/8" die-cut counters and 8 addenda counters |
